Until his death in 1968, Maurice Harrison-Gray, known throughout the bridge world as "Gray", was for some 20 years the bridge correspondent of "Country Life".
Described by "The Official Encyclopedia of Bridge" as "one of the world's leading player-writers". Gray achieved great success as a player, and he inspired affection and gave much pleasure as a writer.

He also played a big part in the thirties in originating the Acol system of play which became "standard" in Britain and widely used in other parts of the world.
As a writer. Gray's work appeared in many newspapers and periodicals, but it was principally in his weekly "Country Life" articles that he passed on, with his light touch, the wisdom and acumen that he had gained from his long experience as a world-class player.
This book contains over 1 50 of these articles, selected by Gray's friend and colleague. Jack Marx, himself a European champion and Gold Cup winner. Clearly presented, and printed in two colours throughout, the articles form the perfect bedside book for bridge players everywhere. Vissza
