Ky* LIFE STYLES is a three-level function-based series for young adults studying in intermediate to hígh-intermediate classes. LIFE STYLES enables students to build upon the basic communication skills they have learned in their beginning courses by recyciing basic functions such as asking for and giving personaI information, requesting, imiting, thanking and expressing opinions. It alsó íntroduces new functions such as elaborating, insisting, changing the subject and qualitying. Similarly, basic grammatical structures are recycled while more complex structures are regularly introduced and practiced. LIFE STYLES presents language in contexts that relate to the students' own experíence and interests. SPEAKING SKILLS ana LISTENING STRATEGIES are developed in oral practice exercises and in special listening activities.
