Chemical Kinetics:
principles and selected topics
Approximately half of the text is devoted to a review of empirical conventions and definitions associated with the formulation of rate laws, presentation of theories of reaction rates in liquids and gases, and discussion of a limited number of reactions to illustrate and amplify the fundamental concepts. The remainder of the text is devoted to new developments in chemical kinetics. Most of the material contained in this portion of the book has not appeared in previous texts on rates of reactions. A riUmber of theoretical concepts covered in the first part of the text are applied in the treatment of these special topics.
The text has been written in concise fashion since the authors believe that this type of presentation is stimulating to teacher and student alike.

To derive the maximum benefit from the text, the student is expected to make extensive use of the references and problems at the end of each chapter. Many of these problems require more thought and effort than routine substitution problems, and for this reason serve to complement the text as well as to test the student's comprehension of the subject.
