Muriel Saville-Troike is Regent's Professor of English at the University of Arizona. She has made significant contributions to the fields of sociolinguistics and applied linguistics, and has previously held posts atTexasASc M University, The University ofTexas, Georgetown University and the University of Illinois. She has previously published The Ethnography of Communication: Foundations for Teaching English as a Second Language (2002) and A Handbook of Bilinflual Education (with Rudolph Troike, 1971).
