Breyer enthusiasts love to get together to buy, sell and trade from their collections, and participate in a variety of fun activi-t;es. You can show your models in halter and performance competition, and earn ribbons just like a real horse show! A model shown in halter is judged upon the appropriateness to the breed, as well as the overall condition of the model. Performance set ups are like a frozen moment in time-the horse must be performing a specific movement correctly, have accurate and well-fitting tack, and be in the proper relationship to any obstacle. It's not easy to get all the details right on a miniature, and a blue ribbon won is well-earned. Customizing is another popular hobby activity. Repainting and adding mohair manes and tails to a Breyer model is a fun way to re-create your horse, or the horse of your dreams! Would you like a palamino, a strawberry roan, a grey or a spotted pinto? You can have them all! Horses come in so many different colors that it's exciting to learn all about equine color genetics.
