Dear Friends!

Welcome to the pages of LEN's 2008 Yearbook, the first to chronicle an Olympic year. And what an astonishing year it has been.
This fourth edition of our annual compilation of results and records of the past twelve months will submerge all avid fans of European Aquatics in the recent memories of a year of success for our continental aquatic athletes. The LEN Yearbook is by now a well established publication that quenches the thirst for a single source of the most important swimming, diving, water polo, synchro, and open water swimming stats in Europe and beyond.
Beijing was of course the event of the year and our athletes played a fundamental role with the greatest number of medals won by a single continent. In these pages you can relive those memorable August days In China, and then time travel back to Eindhoven and the wonderful European Swimming, Diving, and Synchronised Swimming Championships of last March. Then revisit Malaga's European Water Polo... Tovább

Then revisit Malaga's European Water Polo Championships and the great matches we were witnesses to there. Return to Dubrovnik where September's European Open Water Swimming Titles were decided in the transparent Adriatic Sea. The same sea was ever present at the recently concluded European Short Course Championships in Rljeka where the Records tables were turned upside down. You'll also find results from the Water Polo Club Cup competitions and the Junior Continental Championships.
I feel privileged to present this new Yearbook and proud to be the President of LEN. In the name of the Bureau and our Technical Committees, we commit ourselves to the task of further contributing to the evolution of our organisation, to the support of our members, and to putting the utmost care and attention into the many matters that will take us firmly forward.
Congratulations to the Athletes, and Federations, who have written these pages and all the best for 2009.
Nory Kruchten
