This four part integrated course is for children who will be learning English as a foreign or second language, and may be started at the age of 8 or 9. It is envisaged that the course will be used over a period of four years in a non-intensive situation. It is, however, suitable for use in more intensive situations, in which two sets of materials may be usei within the space of 12-18 months. Because of this. Books Three and Four have been designed for use with a wider age range.
The basic aim of the course is to teach the pupils to use English through material which has been structurally graded and integrated. Integration has been based on the following principles:
Nothing will be spoken before it has been heard. Nothing will be read before it has been spoken. Nothing will be written before it has been read.
There are 60 Teaching Units in Book Three. Each Teaching Unit consists of two classroom lessons making 120 lessons in all of 30-45... Tovább
