Western AlgarveThis book takes you on a journey around the western Algarve, starting at Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, regarded as the end of the earth until the Portuguese explorers set sall to prove otherwise. Then you are taken along the rugged western Costa Vicentina coastline to Odeceixe, travelling inland past historic Aljezur to the peaceful retreat of Monchique. From here you head to the coast at Portimao Rocha and Alvor, the important town of Lagos and the rock formations and beaches nearby. The last stretch past Praia da Luz, Burgau, Salema and a series of spectacular unspoilt bays brings you full circle back to Sagres.
