Every aspect of working a ferret is included, from the choice of animal and the equipment needed to discerning the layout of buries and working the ferret with dogs. The Author From her childhood in the New Forest, Jackie Drakeford has been a keen hunter, whether following the foxhounds on foot or on a borrowed pony, or taking the family mongrel rabbiting. She became involved in ferreting after accidentally acquiring a stray ferret, which meant a crash course in ferret husbandry. When not working her dogs and ferrets, Jackie judges at ferret and lurcher shows, writes for a number of countryside publications, lectures in dog psychology, and is actively involved with the promotion of ferrets and ferreting at country shows. She is a founder member of the GEM Ferret Care Group, and a percentage of the royalties of this book will be donated to GEM to assist in their rescue work. Vissza
